I'm trying to organize MBO data to better visualize it. When I attempt this procedure: "Market By Order Data: Adjusting Minimum Quantity to Display for Market by Order Data" I cannot find the AAPL_MBO symbol in the symbol list. All that is there is "AAPL" and "APPL-NQTV". I went ahead and tried to minimize order size using those two symbols and it did not work, so I am assuming it is a symbol issue? Any other suggestions for managing MBO data would also be very appreciated. Thx!!

If there is not an existing specific symbol, then the symbol settings are taking from the general symbol that is setup. For example, for AAPL_MBO, the general symbol will be listed as ????_MBO (so any symbol with 4 characters and using the _MBO will use these symbol settings).

Therefore, if you want ALL symbols with 4 characters to have the same Minimum Quantity to Display, then change that general entry.

Otherwise, if you just want AAPL_MBO to have that minimum quantity, then you would need to duplicate the ????_MBO symbol settings to create your own entry for AAPL_MBO and then update that new symbol settings entry for AAPL. Be sure to change the other entries in the symbol settings that have the ???? to the actual ticker, such as the Historical Chart Symbol (change ???? to AAPL).

Refer to the following for how to duplicate and edit symbol settings:

Ok, I dublicated the AAPL ticker and made a "AAPL_MBO" symbol using the "????_MBO" as template. I made sure that the MBO symbol is showing in chart setting, I changed the minimum size for MBO data to 500, disconnected data feed and reconnected, but still no change. Guesses?

ALso, can you tell me how to change the text color for the MBO data? I looked under global chart graphic settings and looked for "MBO data text color" but I cannot find anything similar? Thx

Please get us an image of the chart where the MBO data is not filtering as you expect. Follow these instructions to get us the image:

Is this the type of image you are requesting? You can see that the MBO data is stacking. Also, some "Recent ASK Volume" is also still stacking despite making recent adjustments.

We wonder if this may be due to copying the AAPL symbol rather than the ????_MBO symbol. We would like to remove the symbol you created and create a new one from ????_MBO. Please follow these instructions for this:
- Select "Global Settings >> Symbol Settings".
- Find the entry for "AAPL_MBO" and select it in the left-side panel.
- Select the "Remove" button.
- Find the entry for "????_MBO" in the left-side panel of the Symbol Settings window and select it.
- Select the "Duplicate" button.
- Enter the symbol name of "AAPL_MBO" in the "New Symbol" window that comes up.
- Select OK to close the "New Symbol" window. This will leave the new symbol selected in the left side of the Symbol Settings Window.
- Find the following entries and set the "Custom" entry to what we list:
-- Historical Chart Symbol: AAPL_MBO
-- SC Data Symbol: AAPL_MBO
-- Minimum Market by Order Quantity: 500
- At the top of the "Symbol Settings" window is an option for "Use Custom Symbol Settings Values". Make sure this has a checkmark in the box for it.
- Select "OK" to close the "Symbol Settings" window.
- Select File >> Reconnect

Go to your chart for AAPL_MBO and let us know if it is now working properly. If not, then please get us another image like you did previously.
