I had understood the data folder could be shared. Is there a way to make one of the Sierra copies read only? Or would you advice to simply have separate data folders? Thanks.

Use Separate Folders. If you are actually using the same Data Files Folder between two instances, then this is something that we have not recommended for many years now and is unsupported. The proper method is to use data sharing through opening a chart data file from a remote folder as explained here:

Hello,

Happened again today. Same problem: CD went on one direction and price the other, re-downloaded chart and divergence disappeared (see attachments if interested - instrument is ES, 3 minutes bar, CD volume bars, resetting at start of day, tick data).

I did have two instances of Sierra running, sharing the data folder, nonetheless please note one instance of Sierra had only one chartbook with CL only, while the other had only one chartbook with ES only. You think that is a problem? If so, could you tell me why would that be a problem given that each instance is using different instruments?

Thank you.

Forgot attachments, but guess not necessary, the problem is exactly the same as before.

First of all, the particular problem you are experiencing with Cumulative Delta Bars makes no sense when using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and you are using one copy of Sierra Chart with its own data folder. There is no explanation for a problem like this.

Being you are sharing the data folder, this must be the source of the problem and what exactly is going wrong is not within the scope of our support because it takes a lot of analysis time and remote assistance and we cannot spend the time with that. We do not provide support for this kind of scenario when the Data Files Folder is shared between 2 or more instances of Sierra Chart.

We do not have sufficient information with what you have said to answer the question.

Do not share the data folder.

I am now using the recommended method to "use data sharing through opening a chart data file from a remote folder as explained here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/MultipleServices.html#Sharing". I am not sharing the data folder. For the record it happened again on a remote SC instance. I had to open the chartbook with the problem on the main SC instance to delete and redownload everything to solve the problem.

In the instance of Sierra Chart where the data originates from, what data feed is it using?

And what is the specific Cumulative Delta Bars study that you are using?

SC data feed. It has all been explained above. Nothing has changed aside of me changing the setup as suggested by your team, setting up remote instances so as to not share the data folders. I'm not looking for a solution at this point as I did not take screenshots and I deleted the log. I am sharing this for the record, for other SC users.

Other users using Cumulative Delta Bars-Volume with the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed are not going to have inaccuracies or inconsistencies between real-time updating and a full recalculation of the study, or when re-downloading the historical data.

We suspect that the instance you are getting the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed in is not using that data. We see you are using Interactive Brokers so it could be IB data. Confirm you see an [M] after the symbol at the top of the chart.

Good observation. M was not there. Even though the main SC instance has "Allow Support for SC Data Feeds" enabled. I closed both main and remote SC instances and reopened. M is now there on the main instance, but not on the remote instance (showing only R). Should the remote instance be showing both M and R?

A chart opened from a remote instance will not show M. Only R.
