This part of the documentation refers: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TechnicalStudiesReference.html#s356 It maybe useful for you to add a comment to this that for reliable/accurate results it should be applied to a time based chart with a CONTINUOUS contract. I could not figure out why the study on a 2 minute CL (Oil) chart was giving silly results (like always well over 200% for Cumm RVOL) compared to my 30 minute CL chart which was showing more believable Cumm RVOL like 86%. After a while I clicked that the difference was due to the 2 minute chart NOT being a continuous contract. For something like the CL (oil) contract with monthly rollovers using a continuous contract will be essential - especially when one is using look back periods of a number of days to calculate the historical average. |
