It sounds like you have a hardware problem with your system. Possibly the memory or hard/SSD drives. Also if you are using Windows 8, it is known that Windows 8 is not completely stable. We recommend Windows 7.

Anyway, there are backup Chartbooks available as you know . Here is the documentation:
