I started this thread because I was concerned about SC consuming future development by forking their Windows codebase to create an OS X version built with a completely different API. They're already busy enough to basically worry about two products. If they adopt other OS platforms, as they've said they're planning to, I hope they pick a cross-platform API. I don't care how they do that (wxWidgets, roll their own wrappers, etc) but I hope they get it done, so they don't make unnecessary work for themselves.
