This is working correctly. It is being saved, but as a Parallel Ray config instead of a Parallel Line config. This happens because setting the extend forward option transforms the drawing into a Parallel Ray, and then when you save the config it saves as a Ray. You can see this in the title of the Chart Drawing Properties window.
