Nic, in SC studies there's an indicator called Swing High and Low. There you can adjust the "Length" (= requirement of how many bars to the left and right to define a fractal / swing point). I've also attached a dll with my swing-point indicator. Here a swing-point is defined as described by you above. But if there are tied / equal highs / lows, they are handled as merged together. In case you want to use mine, copy the dll into your SC\data folder. You'll then find the swing-point indicator under Add Custom Study. Regarding your freezing / lagging issues, you might want to open a new thread in the forum. The SC folks will sure try to help you with that.
