ok. I have used Sierra long enough to understand and already implement most of what you provided. This is the first time I have seen "The ultimate solution is use a separate solid-state drive for Sierra Chart. And an additional solid-state drive for the Data Files Folder. So the Data Files Folder should have its own solid-state drive. In this solution, you will have a total of two additional solid-state drives on your computer system." That is doable.. I do use a lot of Study Price Overlays, but do not have any circular references. I have 8 chart windows open max, and only references to 6 charts, and only for for EMAs. I'll look into my custom studies for efficiency, I am not familiar with that. I only load data necessary for the indicators on that chart. For example, if I have a 300ema on a 1 minute chart, I limit the date range to whatever is required for 2x absolute necessity. I keep an XLS to work that out for me, but date ranges are set per chart for max efficiency already. On Daily charts obviously to run say an 600EMA requires a good date range (1200 days), but bar count is reduced accordingly. In my understanding that affects total data size? I know it does for data exports. I do try to maintain Sierra Data, and limit to minimum reasonable requirements. I'll dig into what you sent. Thanks. |
