Please tell us the exact symbol you are using for VIX. The correct symbol can be found in File >> Find Symbol. So be sure to open it using that window.

Please update Sierra Chart to the latest version.

Select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> More Interactive Brokers Settings and uncheck Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts

If you still have this problem, "charts will stop creating new bars after a while and continue making one long bar", then we will look at the issue with remote assistance. Just let us know.
