One thing that you can do to for faster chart updates, on the charts where you need the fastest updates is to prioritize the charts that you want to update faster, as compared to others that do not need to be updated as fast. For the charts that do not need to be updated as fast, use a higher Chart Update Interval for those. You either want to set a chart specific Chart Update Interval in the Chart Settings, or increase the Global Chart Update Interval if the chart does not have this set. This will effectively give other charts with a lower chart update interval, a higher priority.

No it does not really matter if there is no obvious benefit in your case:
So with that being said, is there any reason for me to use SC timers instead of OS timers?

On our servers, we would never use OS timers anymore because they consume too many "User" objects. And makes the servers sluggish, at least the desktop.

The other thing to be aware of, is that Sierra Chart timers are already used everywhere else within Sierra Chart, outside of charts. There is no way to choose OS timers for those.
