Post From: No compiler found / empty compiler response after remote build

Hello Sierra Chart Support Team,

We are running into an issue when building studies/strategies using the Remote Build service.

The Remote Build completes successfully and reports:

“The remote build is complete.
The build succeeded.
The compiler response is empty.”

However, we also see a message indicating no compiler found, and as a result:

The study/strategy does not appear to execute as expected

There is no backtesting data or results generated

We’re trying to understand:

Why the compiler response would be empty if the build is reported as successful

Whether the “no compiler found” condition indicates a local configuration issue (e.g. Visual C++ components, permissions, or paths), even when using Remote Build

Whether this issue could directly cause strategies to load but produce no historical backtest results

Additional context:

We are relying on Remote Build, not a local compiler

The code builds without reported syntax errors

The problem is consistent across rebuilds

Could you please advise:

What conditions cause an empty compiler response?

What we should check to confirm the compiler and build environment are functioning correctly?

Whether this is a known cause of strategies not producing backtest output

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Lloyd
