There is not a way to not display the information from one instance of the study due to information from another instance. We actually think what you came up with is a good solution. Our only suggestion would be to use a "Point" instead of a "Circle Hollow". Then you will have a filled item and as long as you have the order of the studies such that the largest drawing is at the bottom, then you will only see that last drawn item.
