Hello SC Team, I have read the docs but I'm still left bit puzzled. Here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SCMarketStatistics.php#Symbols, it says: The difference between ADV and DECL. This is the symbol to use to get the Advance-Decline line. However, to get the true Advance-Decline line, you need to add the Advance Decline Line study ...
Here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=151#Advance_Decline_Line, it says Functionally and mathematically this study is equivalent to the Cumulative Sum of Study study.
Q1 (based on quote 1). When you say "true Advance-Decline line", what does that mean? Q2 (based on quote 2). Is NISS (let's says NYSE) the non-cumulative version of Advance-Decline? (I'm guessing this might be the answer to Q1?) Q3. Is Advance-Decline line specifically only for NYSE-NISS (This was mentioned in the docs but I'm double checking because it had special mentioned compared to other NISSes) Q4. If answer for Q1 is something along "NISS is non-cumulative, Advance-Decline line is not", the charts of NISS say otherwise. IE, NISS looks cumulative to me as the next candlestick open from prior candlestick's close which is the nature of a cumulative metric. Thank you. |
