We do not recommend using a single key for a keyboard shortcut. This can lead to problems where you want to use that key to type something, but it does not do what you want (hence the problem you had). Also, you could then accidentally trigger the shortcut, when you do not want it. You should always use a modifier key with your keyboard shortcuts (Shift, Alt, or Ctrl).
