I would like to configure the system to use the historical data already stored in the local database and download only the most recent missing days.
This is what the system does. There is nothing that needs to be done to enforce this. From your video, the issue is not the data being downloaded, but just loading the data into the chart from your drive. From the following link: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.1 - Too Much Data to Load or Loaded The amount of time it takes to load Intraday chart data with a particular Days to Load setting, is affected by the number of data records in that data file. The Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Intraday Data Storage Time Unit affects this and also the frequency of trading for the symbol. If the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit is set to 1 Tick, and there is a lot of trading that occurs for a symbol, it will take longer to load Intraday chart data compared to a symbol that trades less frequently.
