The problem you are having is that you are using the wrong symbol. With "Teton CME Routing" set as your "Current Selected Service" the correct symbol for the K contract for CL would be the following:
CLK25_FUT_CME

The easiest way to solve this is to select "Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service". Refer to the following:
Edit Menu: Edit >> Translate Symbols To Current Service

Also, it does not matter if you are opening an older contract since you are getting your data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. You can open a chart for that symbol and get the data for it.
