This has been causing me issues on a weekly basis, for awhile now and it is greatly exacerbated in times of lower liquidity. How Orders Are Filled A Sell Limit order will only be filled when the Bid price is equal to or greater than the limit price. And it will be filled at the Bid price when this condition is met.
Order Types A buy limit order can only be executed at the limit price or lower, and a sell limit order can only be executed at the limit price or higher.
In this example, price sweeps up PAST the Limit Order and doesn't execute at the Limit price or higher. It's not executed at all because of the Bid Price.The examples shown here is 'only' 5 ticks beyond price but I've seen 30 tick moves where Orders are not filled. In live environments this Limit order fills. Can't we get an option where Limit Orders are filled along with above criteria OR if Last Price is Equal to or Greater than the limit price. I don't understand why this setting is based in this case off the Bid Price when the Limit Order is filled on the Ask and often greatly past it. Maybe I am missing something? Thanks.
