This typically works well. Here are some thoughts: You can increase the bar spacing as much as you want, up to a maximum of 1280 pixels, which is what the number in the bottom right is showing. In your images with bar spacing of 6, 7, and 8 we see differences in the number of bars that are displayed in the chart. The difference is going to be small, as it is only 1 pixel between each bar that you are adding.
