The "Advance/Decline Line" study is meant to be applied to a "Net Issues" chart from the Market Statistics, such as the "NISS-NYSE". This gives you a cumulative sum of the net issues over time. If you want to view that information on a different chart, then the "Study/Price Overlay" is the study to do this.
