The Input for "Reference Other Intraday Chart" is located on the Numbers Bars Calculated Values studies settings. It is the 10th entry from the top of the list. The instructions are correct, you need to set this to "Yes" and then give the chart number in the item below it. You can not use the Study/Price Overlay to do this. You have to use the method described in the documentation that you are referencing.
