The first thing to keep in mind is that the Trading DOM is it's own "chart". Therefore the setting for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trade and Current Quote Symbol" and "Use as Trade Only Symbol" are set for that Trading DOM. So make sure you are changing it on the Trading DOM and not a chart. Next, the "Use As Trade Only Symbol" does affect the Trading DOM in the same way as a chart.
