Under the chart menu, there are two menu items: start and stop scan. If you add instruments to the Associated Watch List for a particular chart, and you have a simple alert set for the chart in the studies section, and then you hit the scan button, the chart will scroll through the instruments in the list to see if your alert condition has been met. What I would like to know (and I don't understand why SC is ignoring this thread) is can this be set on an automatic scanning timer, set to go off every few minutes or an hour or whathaveyou. Having to do it manually can obviously lead to human error (ie i'm dumb enough to forget to do it, sometimes). Using the scan function precludes having to set up lots of different charts with the same alert on each. It's disadvantage is that it scrolls through them pretty rapidly, and you have to go back to any that meet the alert condition. That's something else SC could fix...a variable scrolling time.
