Got it. After I followed the link that was inside this topic: Working With Charts: Error Creating Chart Windows and Trade Windows (General Settings Window: Destroy Chart Windows when Hidden (Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> Application GUI)) these issues were fixed and I was able to open the chartbook file and tweak its study settings.
