Hi John, Thank you for getting back to me. Sorry for the different posts; during the switch from CQG to the Denali feed a lot of questions have come up and it seems now that they all may be connected to the same issue, so, sorry for the redundant posts. I’m not trying to bog SC Support down. I’ll just use this post going forward. 1. In response to your comment: “The first, and easiest way, to handle this is to just stay connected to CQG all the time and use the CQG symbols.” From post “I do not see the “M””, post #5 at [2022-02-08 17:27:16] The only reason I changed to the Denali feed from the CQG feed is because I was told that I needed to by SC Support to get the data I am looking for: “You are not using Sierra Chart provided data. You are using CQG data and we do not provide technical support for that data. And CQG does not have the data that you require.” From post “Error Downloading Historical Intraday Data” post #2 at [2022-02-07 14:55:56]. And “We are not going to spend any time on this at all. We do not support CQG data and that policy is firm. You must use the Denali exchange data feed for data: Denali Exchange Data Feed We will not say anything further regarding CQG data. You need to use our data feed.” From post “Historical Data Discrepancy” post #5 at [2021-11-09 22:45:41] So, if I understand this correctly, your message is at odds with the two quoted above. Can you please clarify? Thank you. 2.In response to your comment: “But, if you do need to switch services for some reason” From post “I do not see the “M””, post #5 at [2022-02-08 17:27:16] I don’t need to switch between the two services. I’m looking for data that is correct & reliable and a system & service that is as simple as possible to use. I don’t know why there is more than one service, possibly because I have a service running with CQG and Denali? Both are active while I switched from CQG to Denali? 3. In response to your comment: “With regards to post #4. This explains all of it. You have to have the symbol set correctly for the particular service that you have selected. We take care of dealing with the symbol for the service and mapping it to the correct symbol to get your data. Therefore, when you are connected to CQG, you need to have the symbol F.US.CA6XYY and when you are connected to SC Data - All Services, it needs to be 6CXYY-CME.” From post “I do not see the “M”” post #5 at [2022-02-08 17:27:16] This makes sense to me. CQG has its format for symbols and SC Data – All Services has its format for symbols. And if I switch between the two services then Sierra Chart can translate the symbols – got it, but I don’t need or want to be switching. 4. In response to your comment: “We responded in another post about issues with the data. Please review that answer and then come back to this post and let us know if you are still having an issue. If you are, then we need to know the following: - What is Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Current Selected Service set to? - What is the symbol of the chart?” From this post “D6Z12 Intraday Chart Issue – Denali Feed – SC Data – All Services”, post #4 at [2022-02-08 18:01:42] My response: Global Settings-> Data/ Trade Service Settings-> Current Selected Service (List): SC Data -All Services [data] The symbol is: 6CZ12-CME[M] When I opened the chartbook for 6CZ12 just now, it was the first time the symbol 6CZ12-CME[M] appeared instead of D6Z12. So, maybe removing some of those other exchanges from - https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=DenaliDataFeed#Exchanges – affected this? Speaking of which, I now only have “3. CME non-professional top-of-book” activated. I deactivated all the others. Would you kindly please confirm this? I think I’ve figured out why the symbol D6Z12 kept reappearing…. I copy and pasted “.Cht” files in the folder SierraChart-> Data when I was still using “Current Selected Service (List): CQG WebAPI” and renamed the “.Cht” files for another contract, (eg: I copied a file called “6CZ13.Cht” and renamed it “6CZ12.Cht”), then I used the SierraChart “Open Chartbook” command while using “Current Selected Service (List): SC Data -All Services [data]” to open the copied “.Cht” file and the symbol “D6Z12” would appear. 5. Unfortunately I am still receiving the error message “Download Failed. Error downloading historical Intraday data for 6CZ09-CME. Historical data file not available for symbol.” I am unable to load Intraday charts for: - 6CH11-CME[M] (The issue may be that in Chart Settings, the earliest Date Range in File is 2011-02-21, even if I change it to earlier, it defaults back to 2011-02-21. Days to Load is set at 400). I can load the Daily chart - 6CZ10-CME[M] (The issue may be that in Chart Settings, there is no date in Date Range in File and if I add a date and click “Apply” it defaults back to being blank. Days to Load is set at 400. Even when I selected the radio button for Use Date Range and type in the dates 2010-09-10 and 2010-12-08 a chart does not appear). The chart window is completely blank. I can load the Daily chart. The same applies for: 6CZ09 & 6CZ08; 6CU10, 6CU09, & 6CU08; 6CM10, 6CM09 & 6CM08; and 6CH10, 6CH09 & 6CH08 (I used relevant date ranges for each contract in the Use Date Range) 6. About a day and a half ago I began a 1 month free trial of Denali and now the Message Log is saying “Usage time has ended.” I should have until the end of February for the trial. Can you please help with this? 7.In response to your comment: “With regards to Post #3 - and your data. We see that you have deactivated the exchanges except for the Full CME Group with Market Depth. We just want to point out that if you really just need the data for the Canadian Dollar and you do not need Market Depth, then you could just use the CME Non-Professional Top-of-Book exchange for $1.25 per month.” From post “I do not see the “M””, post #5 at [2022-02-08 17:27:16] I don’t understand this because on - https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation – under “Available Services” I have chosen “12 – Advanced MBO + Denali Data Feed – 56 USD/ Month” (this is the 1 month free trial I signed up for a day and a half ago). When I open the drop-down menu I do not see an option for “CME Non-Professional Top-of-Book exchange for $1.25 per month.” I do see “CME Non-Professional Top-of-Book exchange for $1.25 per month.” available as an option to Activate on - https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=DenaliDataFeed#ResultBox – Are the options available on - https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation - under the “Available Services” dropdown the Data Feeds? Like the CQG WebApi is either the “3 – Standard - 26 USD / Month” or “5 – Advanced – 36 USD / Month”? And the Denali feed are “10 – Standard + Denali Data Feed – 36 USD / Month” or “11 – Advanced + Denali Data Feed – 46 USD / Month” or “12 – Advanced MBO + Denali Data Feed – 56 USD / Month”? Do I need to pay for a Data Feed/ Service from - https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation - and also a pay for an Exchange from - https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=DenaliDataFeed#ResultBox ? 8. To Sierra Chart Engineering, for post #5, I followed your instructions and updated the Symbol Settings. I will goto "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download" once I am able to connect to the Data Feed again. How can I find out when the data in a chart/ contract has been changed so that I know when I need to do an "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download"? How can I tell what has been changed/ updated? Thank you John and Sierra Chart Engineering for your help and patience. I really appreciate it. Thank you. |
