It means that you need to use a more explicit symbol for Interactive Brokers - you can not just specify the instrument, but you need to give additional information in the symbol. In particular, you will probably want to use the Complete Stock Symbol Format as it is specified at this link: Interactive Brokers Symbols: Stock Format But in the end, you should really ask Interactive Brokers what they require.
