You shouldn't need to cancel attached orders. Once the position is flattened then they cancel automatically. It does it for me, I trade thru IB. Take a look at this for your order confirmation window: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Menu >> Order Confirmations (chart specific) Double check everything with sim trades.
