It is all dependent on the timing of when you selected the options to not display in the Spreadsheet. If you had added the spreadsheet after you had deselected the option to Include in Spreadsheet, then the study would not show. But, it sounds like the order of things in your case, was that you had the Spreadsheet added, which then put the study into the spreadsheet, and then you deselected the option in the Bar Numbering for Include in Spreadsheet. Since the data was already there, it was not removed (as you found out). Your options would be to either delete the column(s) of data or you could select Edit >> Reload and Recalculate.
