Wow. Interesting thread from 2014...

I am looking at Manage Drawings panel now in 2021 and I see you guys have had a tough journey.
At tradingview.com, they have a concept of grouping for objects so that you can lock and hide certain groups of objects (groups can be named as you like). Each object has the option of appearing on a timeframe of your choosing, so you can accomplish what you are looking to do there.

With SierraChart we get a list of object groupings that are by drawing type and symbol.

I like the idea of tying drawings to a time frame because levels are often created and as you dig down into lower time frames and refine the levels, if you decide to add any new ones, they become cumbersome when you go back out to another timeframe. This can be managed with the chart settings:advanced settings 2 tab where you can copy from charts, but as the user above mentions, this requires keeping a chart for each time frame. Perhaps an option.

Personally, I would like to see the Tools:Manage Chart Drawings Drawings Window redesigned.
1. It should change focus as you click on different charts / it should have a menu (preferably a command line option like ctrl+f panel in chrome that allows you to type "Chart:5" or "Chart:USD" and be presented with a selection and hit enter and bam, there you are... I suggest ctrl+/ or ctrl+. as this is common in many programming tools to access the ever growing functionality.
2. It already has Drawing Type filters and a filter for Symbol, but these should be available from the keyboard with the menu access mentioned in 1.
3. It would be nice if the list of objects could be sorted by date added and by object properties (i.e. price - open, high, low, close, and time on the chart). We can see the anchors in the list, but they have no sorting ability and are not organized.
4. It would be nice if the text of the object could be changed from this panel - click on the text and edit directly or via command line... i.e. change all text from x to y.
5. It would be nice if we could select objects with certain properties such as alerts, locked, hidden.
6. Keep track of which time frame was used for the object and allow it to be used as a sorting/filtering mechanism. Hide all hourly lines, for example, and how all 15 min.

I also wish all the objects had a hover property allowing a block of text (in addition to the text that displays with the object) so that we might be able to hide or not use the text on the chart, but to hover the mouse over the object and get a popup with details in a hover box (personal text, plus any info selected regarding the object properties).

It seems to me that if the drawing objects are stored in a database, it should be easy to create an interface for a user to take those objects and organize them how they wish either in a tactile fashion with the mouse or with the keyboard using commands/scripts. If the properties of the objects are discoverable, the user should be able to select precisely what they need either by adding a column to the Drawings table visually or by using the command line to select what they need.

If the command line is used, we can expect to use voice commands eventually as well, so I'd really like to see this path taken in future development...

Good luck everybody. Wonder how the Thank you button here works. If somebody gets enough thank you's does SC Engineering start a plan to implement the feature?
