1. Two users today posted about running out of storage space, on their computer storage drive.
Follow the instructions here to reduce storage space used by Sierra Chart:
We added a new item to include market depth data files. Those files can use a lot of space, and older ones may no longer be useful to you. So you do need to delete those market depth files.
Also Sierra Chart never writes any data outside of its own folder. Only to the Data subfolder. You may have relocated the data subfolder to another location outside of the Sierra Chart installation folder but other than writing to the Data folder Sierra Chart does not write to any other folders other than its subfolders.
Sierra Chart does not use the system temporary folder ever.
And we always recommend that Sierra Chart is installed on its own dedicated solid-state drive. Refer to:
Get at least a 500 GB drive. Historical data downloaded by and received by Sierra Chart is stored locally. Due to increased market activity, and also market depth data functions which require historical data, increases the amount of storage space needed by Sierra Chart.
Also newer versions of Sierra Chart, always enable compression on market depth data files. Make sure you are running a current version.
