Looks like it's something related to my C drive where Sierra is installed (Samsung EVO SSD). Here's what I did: Installed SC in a new folder on the same C drive where it was previous installed. I copied the minimum number of files needed to restore my previous charts/settings. Upon running the new install everything looked good and exactly how it was on the previous install. However, the problem re-occured. Next, I installed SC on a completely different drive (Seagate Sata2) and copied the same files and once again everything ran perfectly fine. However the problem was gone. I could use the Set Defaults button without freezing. Weird. Problem only started with the new updates and not sure why all the study defaults didn't migrate over with the new chart windows. Oh well.
