When there is a problem with Interactive Brokers (IB), repeating that IB API is garbage serves no purpose. If it is so bad, then why Sierra Chart (SC) is offering it in the first place ? Potential customers to Sierra Chart (SC) should be informed before signing that IB is either not supported or that frequent errors occured between IB and SC and that customers select IB at their own risk. Instead, IB clients and welcome, are later exposed to errors then are advised to use SC own routing, own data services or its affiliated brokers. IB clients will it a bit misleading, no doubt ! And it still does not explain why SC shows live orders being filled in SC charts and SC DOM, when in fact these orders are fantasist and non existent ... And if there is some setup to avoid this, as you seem to indicate, shouldn't it be automatically configured when you select IB as Trading Service ? That would avoid some bad vibes. Finally, sorry, but I still believe that SC should confim first with IB if orders have been filled before displaying them as filled in SC charts and DOM. But what do I know ? It is really a shame because SC is an otherwise excellent piece of software, fast, powerful and highly customizable. But you must understand the frustration since when located outside the US, one would have to close his IB account, transfer back his monies let us say in Asia, before opening a new broker account and redoing a transfer to the new broker. Days or weeks wasted. A real pain in the neck. Doing an ACTS doesn't cut it since most brokers will make noise when you withdraw monies if they have to transfer to a bank account different from the one used when opening the new account. Any suggestion is welcome. |
