In addition to new functionality, which does not create any additional CPU burden, we continue to make existing code more efficient. So that is why when someone mentions a performance issue, we know that it must be something specific to their system or configuration and something unusual going on. Now if you notice a performance issue after updating from a version 2 or more years ago, then yes it is possible there could be something that is less efficient perhaps may be related to formula processing due to more functionality available with that but we are working on optimizing that as well.
