@Chad, Thank you so much for your input here, it prompted me to call IBKR a 4th time, but armed with better info. So, I was told in this last conversation that IBKR Lite is a relatively new account delineation for them. This level of account currently denies access to API functionality through the Gateway or TWS, but it has been approved and will have that access in a couple of months. The good news is that Chad is correct. You can change your classification from Lite to Pro and while your trade commission structure will change, your market data rates will stay at the non-pro level (as reflected by your disclosures), which is a huge difference. This is different from what personnel at their secondary call center have said (and priced) to me more than once, but is good to finally get to the bottom of this. I'm guessing the default account for most non-pros that use IBKR for stock trading will be set to Lite for the free commissions, so anyone with a newer IBKR account should be aware of this limitation (for the time being). I still look forward to the Sierra Chart version of Market Depth Data, but hopefully IBKR will get me through until then. Thanks to Chad and SC Support for your help with this.
