OK Ged, I am picking up my machine today: they said could not find anything that they felt would cause the data freeze. When I get it back, I will test the CPU. It's a 32bit. However, your solution re: dual instances may solve another (even greater issue I have had for over a year now, and thought it was my machine just slowing down for some reason. For at least a year I have had issues EVERY TIME I make a change to a chart, such as changing the size from 1 minute to 2 minutes. Also, ANY changes I make to a Study, will likewise FREEZE the whole machine for 30 to 60 seconds! I have been so upset with this, but since it did not interfere with trading, I just lived with it, thinking I will deal with it after the data freeze is solved. Now your comments above about CPU, are seemingly directed also, to this very problem! In other words, following your solution, might just solve both issues! Will let you know once I get PC back later today and take a look at the 'DTC Server' help topic. Thanks for your persistence :).
