Yes that is true. It is not possible to limit the connection to just alerts. The connection will also be used for market data and trading. So it is not possible to just receive alerts remotely. If you do not need to be looking at the charts all of the time that would be generating alerts you can just put those into a Chartbook on your local instance of Sierra Chart . This Chartbook would be open but not visible and then you could enable this option: General Settings Window: Destroy Chart Windows when Hidden (Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> Application GUI) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
