Post From: using historical data chart with actual trading

I have read through the links provided but I still have no idea what alternatives to use.m Here's what I am trying to do:

First, I have been doing analysis on various commodities, such as CL, NQ, etc., using my historical charts. I use CL#, NQ#, etc. for the analysis. I have found some long-term trends using technical analysis I want to trade on. However, those charts do not seem to update quickly enough at the end of a trading day for me to place a trade at the end of the day based on the chart's results. So if, for example, I were trading simply based on an exponential moving average of 5 periods, I can't see whether the line at the end of today's trading goes up or down until the new historical data posts, which is not until some time after closing (I'm not sure when).

NOTE: I am not trading using the Sierra charts as a platform. I am getting data from Sierra and will be trading through cannon Trading separately, so it's irrelevant to me if the symbols match up.

What I'm trying to figure out is if there's a way to look at my historical data chart, just as it is, with the technical indicators, just as they are, and attach on the current day's trading that the technical indicator will take into account. That way when the trading day closes I have an indicator that gives a buy or sell signal.

Or perhaps there is an easier way to do this. I find, though, that when I simply use the 1-day time frame on the intraday charts, the data is different and not an apples to apples comparison with my historical data analysis. If I can't translate my historical data analysis into actual trades, I'm not sure what the point of doing such analysis is.

Thanks.
