As the reference you quoted states, the Trading DOM is a specialized Chart object, so it acts the same as any other chart that is part of a Chartbook. Charts are not saved individually, they are only saved as part of a Chartbook. If you just want the Trading DOM alone, you would need to save a Chartbook with just the Trading DOM open.
