If these two fields do not actually show the maximum open profit/loss of a flat to flat position
. I imagine most users want to know the maximum open loss of a flat to flat position to help them set an efficient loss limit on open positions. If the "Flat to Flat Maximum Open Loss" statistic doesn't show that, what's the point of it?
Those fields do indicate precisely this. And when you enable Edit >> Summary Trades Only for Trades List, you will see the Flat to Flat Maximum Open Profit and Flat to Flat Maximum Open Loss reported among all of the sub trades easily rather than having to visually look for the maximum values.

For example, the Maximum Open Profit during a flat to flat trade simply is at any point in time, what was the maximum profit achieved during the open trades at that moment in time. This is now reliably provided. It was not previously. You are never going to convince us of anything related to this otherwise. Accurate information is now provided. What you see is 100% accurate. That is definitive. And there is quite a lot of detail needed to provide this information accurately.

The second (and for me more important) point I'd like to make is that the new format of the Trades Tab makes it very difficult to use the trade statistics in Excel to analyze flat to flat trades. By adding "BP" and "EP" to the end of the entry and exit times, these fields no longer show date and time in a format that is recognisable by spreadsheets.
You just need to uncheck Edit >>Include Begin/End Indicators in Trades List

Most other trading platforms generate an equity curve for users after a backtest.
Sierra Chart has always had this. You need to use the Trading: Closed Profit/Loss study:

I'm not saying the new format of the Trades Tab is not useful, but many users need to be able to quickly view and analyse their trades on a flat to flat basis without any of the in-between information.

Why not keep the flat to flat view showing only stats that can be accurately calculated, and give users the ability to choose between the new and old Trades Tab formats?
This is supported. Clearly you have not been following this thread:
