Post From: More RAM = More Speed Loading Speed?

Hi there.

I believe that I have a reasonably powerful PC. It has an intel i7 processor 4770K 3.5GHz plus 16GB of RAM (Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz) and the MOBO is a GIGABYTE GA-H87-HD3. OS is W10.

I noticed that when I started using more charts and more days to load (to run the simulator), the more the loading times grew longer. Thing is I am using at least 10 charts to trade, what I mean by that is the number of charts opened at the same time and spread across two monitors. I noticed that the software starts to get sluggish when we keep adding more charts to the same chartbook, yes I could spread between different chartbooks and a new parallel instance of Sierra but I wanna use the simulator going way back in time, so the only way is a lot of charts in the same chartbook with a lot of days loaded, and that is taking a toll on the processing power.

Just wanted to know if adding more RAM is overkill and won't impact the performance of the software, or it is better to save for a more recent and faster CPU? Thing is that for all charts to run in sync when in simulator mode they need to have the same number of days loaded in all of them, otherwise the charts gets messed up.
