We have looked into this problem some more and we cannot see how this is anything but an operating system level problem. You did say in the call that you did have a problem with a particular Windows update.

We have not had any other user encounter a problem like this. And this installer is extensively used.

We have an idea of where the problem is occurring and we have added an additional check to ensure that the freezing condition does not go on for an extended time but this is not really a proper solution. There is something fundamentally going wrong at the operating system level.
