I made a Study Collection that you can play around with. Download the attachment and put it in your Sierra Chart Data folder. Then in Sierra Chart go the Menubar->Analysis->and select Color Bar Based On Volume Spikes.

Steps I used to create it:

1. Add the Volume Study
2. Create an Average of Volume by adding a moving average that's input is based on Volume.
3. Create a "Volume Spike Threshold" by using the study "Study Subgraph Multiply". Multiplying the Average of Volume by 1.75.
4 Then I used the "Color Bar Based On Alert Condition" with the alert set to ID1.SG1 > ID3.SG1. Where ID1 is Volume and ID3 is the "Volume Spike Threshold".

You don't have to put the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study on the chart if you dont want to. As long as the alert formula exists in one of the other studies.

Then go to the Menubar->Global Settings->General Settings->Alerts / General 3 tab and choose an alert number to create a custom alert settings that will send an email alert to you. And lastly go to the study that has the alert formula, on the studys settings page->Alerts tab and link the Alert Sound combobox to which ever alert number you chose before that sends an email.

Both the Avg of Volume moving average length and the Volume Spike Threshold values can be changed to tailor it to your liking.
