Today got message to download pre-release 1684. Did that, messed up my main chart and lost Global settings again.
What problem did you have with your main chart? In regards to losing global settings, that makes no sense. Maybe you have made an incorrect conclusion.

How did you update Sierra Chart?

Any suggestions on how to update without changing global settings?
There should never be a problem like this. And we mean never.

The global settings are contained in the file Sierra3.CFG. There are backups of this file in the Backups subfolder in the folder Sierra Chart is installed to. Exit from Sierra Chart and take one of these backup files with a date a few days ago, and remove the Number in front of it and put it into the main Sierra Chart folder. If you need more detailed instructions, we can put those together for you.
