Unrelated to this, is that Sierra Chart believes in solid well-designed software with a traditional user interface and consistency from version to version. Having said this, there certainly is room for improvement and incremental improvements will be made. But they will be gradual and sensible. Unlike Microsoft which has absolutely no respect for users and the community and for proper privacy standards, and forcefully pushes their garbage and their reckless and disorganized user interface changes upon all of us. This is exceptionally disturbing being they have an extremely dominant position in the operating system market. Microsoft is mentally deranged. The Start menu is a total abomination. We have begun to use the new Visual Studio/ Visual C++ 2015 and higher versions, and the user interface has been totally botched big time and cannot even function properly with a touchscreen. What is this world coming to? So, sorry, Windows 10 sucks no less than Linux sucks, it just sucks differently. So far, Microsoft has had two great modern OSes: Windows XP and Windows 7 (in the past they had rock solid Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000).
Perhaps we should develop our own new operating system. One thing that Sierra Chart users are not really aware of is how much low-level programming that we actually do. There is so much in Sierra Chart that is built from scratch and from the ground up. For example, the new network socket communication core is totally built from scratch and uses basic core operating system functionality. Sierra Chart even has its own high-performance string class. We do not use the standard MFC CString class. We could also go on and on. Sierra Chart has its own spreadsheets also built from scratch. We are also dumping QT which will also eliminate the reliance on the Microsoft redistributable package eliminating any potential for startup problems. Hopefully this posting gets some attention.
