The error occurs with default study settings. I have tried switching things around as you suggested: the study works correctly if I change "Chart Settings / Session Times / Start Time" to "00:00:00" and "Do Not load Weekend Data". Unfortunately that is not much use to me because futures markets start every session at 17:00:00 CT and I use other studies depending on the session time.
