i'm not even sure sierra actively uses more than 4 threads so it probably can't take advantage of additional cores

i hate sitting at a desk so i usually have it in travel mode with only 2 cores, for the 16+ hour battery life, and it effortlessly handles my setup

sierrachart is really lean and efficient software. i use truly bare-bones Windows 11 IoT edition with everything disabled

check the parallels free trial to make sure it meets your needs

hello,

I am leaning towards using parallels on my Mac mini to use Sierra chart. Parallels (currently on a trial version) is telling me to buy windows 11 pro which is $200/£150 (through parallels) and might be excessive considering I only want to use parallels for Sierra chart and nothing else. You mention Windows 11 Iot which I've not heard of before. Could you let me know which version (such as in the link below) would be suitable? I assume you just buy it, and insert the product key in the system settings as normal... thanks in advance.

@brainscan132 you do NOT need a full Windows to run Sierra Chart on Mac mini. All you need is Wine which is free, open source. It translates Windows applications to be run on MacOS. Just search Wine for MacOS, follow instructions and you will be set! Been running Sierra for the past 5 years using Wine, it's a smooth ride.

You do not want Windows 11 IOT. Get a Windows 11 Pro license and download the Windows 11 Pro for ARM ISO file at Microsoft. There are many websites selling licenses with big discounts. Or you can leave Windows unactivated, and it will still run Sierra Chart OK, and I understand it will continue to get critical and security updates, but no new features.
