Hi Sierra Engineering,
I have no solid repro, and have been trying new builds that I believe have your new timer models, and after some time my charts become unresponsive. The Sierra main menus and F5/Settings dialogs also suffer. Once, I could not click any windows as it seems all messages/mouse clicks were just not registering. I happened to have a settings dialog open last time and a chart what was running at about 45ms was showing 150-200ms with an extremely slow update. I could click, but things were taking on the order of 5 seconds to process. I have default update settings for most charts and 200ms or 250ms for a few.

Have not seen other posts about this in the forum. So either I am the only one experiencing this, or others are not trying these builds and/or reporting this.

Gotta go back to v2700 if I am trading live. I had a position on when the last issue happened and my bracket still fired for scales/trades and stops, but was not a good situation.

Updating title here. v2710 was running overnight, and this morning the charts were updating but could not be clicked, selected, etc. The Sierra Menus were unresponsive as well.

Connected the debugger and broke in 3 different times and these were the stack traces.

Unsure what changed with Sierra message pumps, but something is happening where it appears messages are not being dispatched, and Windows is not able to receive/process such messages.

See attached for the stacks.

Your conclusion is definitively not correct. The window messages are getting processed. And nothing has changed at all, with window message handling. Absolutely nothing.

What you should check in the Windows Task Manager is: User and GDI object counts. What are they?

In all cases, the issue is you are using too low of a Chart Update Interval:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Whats_New.php#SCVer2702

And for the record, we see no such issues like this at all. We see that Sierra Chart is more responsive, the desktop of the system is more responsive. We only see an advantage.

There can be no doubt that you are using too low of a Chart Update Interval.

Update: We actually now realize why there is an issue when using too low of a Chart Update Interval. Normally this should not matter but the automatic management of too many timer events is actually not working as intended. We are fixing this.

This will be out in 2711.

The actual problem is, is that there are too many timer messages in the message queue due to too low of a Chart Update Interval. Users who are experiencing a problem, can now see that you are setting the Chart Update Interval far too low, than is capable of being kept up with.
