Bumping it for awareness here: I am Trading View user - been using Macbook right now and been playing around with Sierra Chart on VMWare on Mac The performance pretty laggy from my experience - and I am hesitant in purchasing Parallel desktop to run Sierra Chart Hence I am looking into the Newest SnapDragon laptop as they have superior battery life - I can't put up with the battery life on x86 laptop as I travel a lot. Would be very curious to know if anyone managed to run Sierra Chart on their X Elites laptop - and they corresponding performance compared to x86 system |

i don't have any experience with snapdragon but i can comment that parallels is dramatically more performant than vmware on macos arm64

I just got the Surface laptop with Snapdragon X Elite for Black Friday. First thing I did was install Sierra Chart to see how it performs. I typically run 4 heavy chartbooks on my desktop that has Ryzen 9 5900X & it runs effortlessly, no problems at all. Tried the same thing on this Snapdragon X Elite Surface laptop and Sierra Chart freezes during startup itself, haven't been able to start it successfully, gave it multiple tries. Then tried it with just one of those chartbooks at startup (which has 10 charts), its very slow and not that performant. So there you go, for everyone wondering. I'm disappointed! |

what versions of SC are you running? the latest froze on me until I updated the global chart update interval per their latest recommendation. They updated the timer from MS Windows to their own much higher quality timer. It should be around 100ms at the lowest or 800ms or so for systems that are not as high performing IMO.

Update Sierra Chart to version 2712. Instructions: Software Download: Fast Update There should not be any types of issues related to timers on that version or higher.
