That may not be wrong what you see. However, just make sure there is no filtering set: Chart Settings: Volume Filter (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Volume Filter Settings menu) For example, this is what we see for a portion of that day, in US Eastern Time: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1688216162215.png Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Hi DavideCD, I encounter the same problem. Did you find a solution? My ES footprint is working well and the NQ is a nonsense. Thanks |

Has anyone found a solution to this? I am really interested. I have the same issue. ES looking good but applying the NQ to the chart really messes up everything

We need to specifically understand what you are referring to and why it is wrong: but applying the NQ to the chart really messes up everything

I have attached a video capture of the the ''messed up'' chart, i am sorry i just could not find another explanation to what it does when i apply the NASDAQ future to the same chart i use for ES. You will noticed the first few seconds are from the E mini S&P 500 future and then i switch to mini NQ. Also i believe the DOM is almost not displaying orders and the volume on BID and ASK is very thin. I understand the general volume of NQ is lower than ES but definitely something is wrong here. Any help with the settings would be amazing as i am trying to fix this for the last week

This has nothing to do with the Numbers Bars study itself. It is the fact that you are using a 4 Tick Renko and that is causing the bars to have very little data for each one. You would want to increase the size of the renko bars in order to get them to "look" similar to what you see for the ES.

Thanks for your reply John, i have managed to increase the tick size on the settings to be able to read some of the info on the number bars, not ideal but until i figure out how to set it up properly i have to leave it there . I don't think the size of the renko is actually the problem. Please forgive me, I am not a chart technician, but from my understanding is that NASDAQ and Dow Jones "move" faster because are on a higher price that S&P 500 (i am referring to mini futures) or i should say more volatile . However, still not understanding how the CL crude oil moves in such small increments (tick size is set to 0.01) but still able to print "smooth" on a 6tick renko. I am trying to set the same charts (Number bars and DOM) for DOW JONES and DAX40 as well, but i encounter the same problem as the NASDAQ. Also one of other problems i have is that the DOM is quick to delete the SOLD and BOT orders for all of the above indices. I will leave a screen record with the settings i have that works wonderfully for the ES and the CL but not so good for DAX40, NASDAQ and DOW JONES. Any help or ideas in regards with the settings will be very very welcome. Just realised i have included the DAX as well but the regular hours are actually past now. I have also forgot to ask if everything looks good as far as you are concern. Thank you Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-07-06 16:46:49

This is definitely related to the Bar Period you are using and not the Numbers Bars study itself. The Numbers Bars study looks fine the way you have it setup. But there simply is not at much trading occurring to cause the NQ to generate a new bar, so the same settings do not work between ES and NQ. It may look fine as a bar, but when you are looking at the underlying data, it is not as filled out.

Al right, thank you John. Any suggestion on how i make for Sold and Bot orders to stay printed on the DOM longer, the same way they are staying in the ES DOM in the video i posted with my last thread. Much appreciated

Do not change the Tick Size. Refer to the following for how to adjusst the DOM to aggregate market depth into larger levels: Global Trade Settings Windows: Combining Price Levels for Market Data Columns in the Chart/Trade DOM And be certain that you are displaying the "Recent Bid/Ask" columns and not something else. Refer to the following: Global Trade Settings Windows: Customize Chart/Trade DOM Columns (Chart Specific) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
