Today I had a trade on that went against me took out my Stop Loss order which did not execute and left me with a naked position going against me. How does something like this happen?

This would mean that the stop order was actually not working at the exchange. It may have been canceled because it was a Day order. In the case of CQG which you are using, if you did not have Sierra Chart running at the time of the parent fill, then the stop order would not be working at the exchange.

You need to look at the Trade Activity Log to see what specifically happened with that Stop Order:

We strongly recommend to use Teton order routing for server-side bracket orders:

Thank you. I did speak to my broker about the stop loss being canceled and they said it was canceled because my order was filled but price went through my stop price before the order could be sent to the exchange. I use CQG for routing and that seems kind of slow for order execution speed. Is there any way to get faster order execution so my stop orders can be sent to the exchange immediately after the order is filled? Would Teton order routing offer faster order execution? What other advantages does Teton offer over CQG? Does it cost more? Thank you.

You will find all the information on the Teton Order Routing at the following link:

In terms of cost, it is cheaper, as there are no Order Routing Fees when using the Teton Order Routing.

With CQG, aren't stop orders still working at the exchange, but the OCO bracket order functionality to cancel the other side after one side fills is locally held?

Regarding post #5, how this works when using CQG is explained here:
Attached Orders: Management of Attached Orders when Trading Service Supports Server Side OCO Only

Regarding post #3, yes Teton would minimize the kind of issue you had, but there is also an option in Sierra Chart for this scenario:
Attached Orders: Market Moving Quickly Beyond Stop Price Causing It to Become Invalid

Make sure you update to the latest release though for proper support for this for CQG:
Software Download: Fast Update

Otherwise it will not work.

How do I create a single market order with 2 contracts with 2 stop orders that behave differently? The first contract will have a Step Trailing Stop and the second contract will have a stop that moves to breakeven after a fixed profit amount and stays at breakeven.

Refer to the following for an example:
Attached Orders: One Target with 2 Stops with Move to BreakEven on Target 1

But, in that example, there is only 1 target with a quantity of 1. To do this properly and have a target that covers a quantity of 2, you need to have 2 targets and two stops, each as an OCO pair. The Targets can be at the same price level, but they will be separate.

Note that for Stops, there is an ability to set a single Stop for the full quantity and have it set to an OCO of "All OCO Groups".

Is the Server Side Profit Loss Management tool working in Sierra Chart? I was disabled a while back but it looks like it may be working again. I would like to set a daily loss limit from Sierra Chart server and when hit not be able to trade anymore.
