There is no reason why there would be any difference in the way the chart behaves simply because it is an equities chart instead of a futures chart. thanks. is there a tick size for the chart and my tpo that you would recommend as a max to make sure i dont lose too much data?

The Tick Size is determined by the instrument and is not something you should change. As to the Letter/Block Price Increment in Ticks, that is something you will have to figure out for yourself, in terms of the tradeoff of the larger letters/blocks versus the underlying data and what you want to see.
